18" versus 20" wheels in winter driving? ?
Find answers to your legal question.

18" versus 20" wheels in winter driving? ?

I'm looking at several Lincoln MKX AWD vehicles. Some have 20" wheels, some come with 18" rims. Any significant advantages to one size over another? Traction in the snow? Wet/slippery surface braking? Pothole survival? (after the snow melts, the resultant potholes seem to find me!) is the extra 2" of clearance over the road surface a big deal?

Any dry surface/normal driving conditions advantages to one over the other?

Thanks for your help

THey only thing those do is make your car look ugly and stupid. They do not offer better anything.

The 20's would give you a better footprint on the road as well as better handling overall, the downside would be if you hit a pothole then the cost would be a lot more.
