If you were booked (printed and mug shot) and your prints sent to the FBI, as is typical, your record is permanent for the rest of your life. Whether you are convicted or not is immaterial. The record of your arrest is forever. Retired peace officer.

The closet answer would be (C).....but while many people believe that a DUI/OWI record will automatically fall off of a driving record after a specific amount of time, that’s simply not true.

Many states have laws that will keep a DUI/OWI record on your driving record for a specific number of years.

However, you may have a DUI/OWI record remain on your driving record indefinitely. If you were convicted of a DUI/OWI a few years ago it is important to check your driving record to see if your DUI/OWI record is still showing up on your driving record.
