A few driving test question... need help in next half hour?

Well in about an hour I have to go take my driving test. Im sure im fine I've been driving 'illegally' for 4 or 5 years now, even across the country, never been pulled over. I'am sure I'am an exceptional driver im just a little nervous so I was wondering... Im so use to how I drive over the past few years, am I going to get down graded for how I hold the steering wheel? Does it have to be 2 hands, I like to use 1 hand (im use to a manual) and when I turn I put my left hand up in a crack in the window. Is that okay to do? or should I always use 2 hands except when making a sharp turn. Also I grew up in oregon and I have to take my test here in florida. I know to them it would sound like an excuse so I wont even mention it, but the roadways are different even down to the pavement and the kinds of turn lanes etc... Im a little nervous about that. I pretty much know i shouldnt be, i've driven through LA traffic in rush hour... but idk, any last words to help ease the pressure?

Well i only missed 1 question on all the knowledge stuff. I used both hands the whole time. I had to do it on a little course so it was extremely easy, and VERY short, no roundabouts, no u turns, no paralell parking. the most he had me do was a 3 point turn, and go to 20 miles and hour and break really fast, it was very easy I got 100% not 1 mistake on the driving section. thanks guys! I chose the best answer because hes the only one who wanted to know how it went and he said the same as everyone else, thanks guys!

just remember to keep your hands at 10 and 2 and yes both hands...don't tell them your fron oregon and just act like you have lived in florida all your life.. also check your mirrors always all three and always use your mirrors to make the turns first then just listen to the instructor and you will do fine and good luck and just breathe!!! tell us how it went man!!

both hands on the steering wheel. ten and two position. at all times. after you shift you keep both hands on the steering wheel. and you need both hands on the wheel to make a sharp turn. i dont know who taught you but illegal driving makes you learn bad habits and is a stupid thing to do since you dont have insurance. what if you'd gotten into an accident and totalled the car? good thing you're getting your license.

Just go through the motions of a textbook driver that one time. Make all adjustments to the rearview mirror before turning on the car, wear a seatbelt, don't turn on the radio, drive with your hands at 10 and 2, signal each turn with your blinkers in plenty of time, and if you have time, practice parallel parking before you head over there. Don't worry about making a few small errors, but minimize those bad habits that you are aware of so those points cannot keep you from getting your license.

you'll be fine man. who cares if you miss a few points. I know they watch you to see if you do traffic checks though...(look side to side on crossroads and stuff)

during the test, definetly put both hands on the steering wheel. They WILL say something if you don't. Its pretty easy. Try to pretend they aren't there. My first road test I was so nervous I didn't pay attention to simple things and ended up failing!

You probably didnt have to do much parrallel parking in oregon.. work on that.

i'll bleed..b/c u dont care!

Yes, keep both hands on the wheel at all times except to use your turn signal (don't forget that!) and to switch gears. I am not sure why you are sticking your hand through the window to turn but that might be a good habit to get out of anyway.

yeah, you will fail miserably.

You've been driving illegally, without a license or insurance for 4-5 years? What an idiot.

always keep two hands on the wheel, it is very, very important, even when making all turns. hand over hand is the best way to turn. keep all the windows closed so your not tempted to put your hand up there. try not to worry so much, usually the driving tests are much easier and quicker than you think. the instructor in the car will try to make you feel more comfortable. just remember to stay calm, drive slowly and take your time. drive confidently and deliberately and you will do just fine, just follow all instructions diligently. have fun with your new license!

just always. always. always. keep both hands on the wheel at 10 an 2. u know that rule right. and make sure to glance at ur mirrors like every 5 secs. they want to know ur paying attention. and when switching lanes dont use mirrors actually look. or they will get pissed off. i live in san bernardino california so i konw about wierd dmv people. driving is mad out here

well im going to be taking my roadtest in march, but ive also been driving on my own for about 2 or 3 years now, so i myself have some driving experience. id say just relax and dont get nervous when taking the test, i have friends who took it and said it was the easiest thing ever and that it only took less than 10 minutes. dont crack under the pressure, why waste all the driving experience you have because your getting nervous? just take it easy. by the way good luck i cant wait to take mine in march.

Try to drive with two hands, even if you only do it for the test. Whether or not they would care if you did this I don't know, it really just depends on the specific person that you get. Make sure to come to a complete stop, use turn signals, etc. But hey, the worst thing that could happen is you could fail, and then honestly, you've been driving so long anyways I don't think failing once is going to be too big of a deal because you're going to drive without a license anyway. But if it happens make sure that you understand why you failed so that next time you go to take the test you'll have better chances. Good luck!

Definitely drive with both hands. And then, as you leave the DMV with your license, drive with no hands.
