it gets pushed back, like you do, but slightly, because it's light.
it can accelerate far faster than your car can, in addition to which, the medium that it's in is moving, so it doesn't take much.
a helium balloon, on the other hand, will be pushed forward, toward the windshield. |

I know you can feel the accelleration when you start moving, because you are sitting still and inertia keeps you in place momentarily until the seat comes up to meet your back.
But, you don't feel the "wind" blowing your hair back when you accellerate because it is picked up and moved the moment the car starts moving. That, plus the fact that the air carrying the fly is very light and has very little inertia to keep it in place. The airborne fly is, essentiall, part of the air. |

Yes. The reason is the velocity that comes from the speed of lift off. The faster you were to pull off the less stability there is in the weight of the vehicle, mixed in with the speed. Both combined then you have an accident waiting to happen. If flying cars did exists you would need to pull off slowly. Its the same thing with a car. If you pull off fast, or gas the pedal too quick, then the car creates friction on the road causing the tires to spin out also causing instability in the weight of the car with the speed. |

Yes and no. It will move backwards, but not all the way. It'll be pressed in that direction just like you will. The air in your car is also being moved, however, and the air pressure will cushion the fly slightly so it won't be thrown and smashed against the back windshield with great force.
It has nothing to do with whether the fly is heavy or light. |

NO is the answer! Its called gravity baby... do you think if you were driving 75mph that the fly would be flying 75mph too? try this for instance. if a truck was going 60 mph pulling a car trailer, you drove up behind it then drove up on the trailer how fast would you be going? its the same thing... |
