Unfortunately, when people 'Fail' the driving test. They will often look for or dream up,even tell lies or distort the truth, that it was not their fault, therefor there must be some other reason or something wrong with the examiner/test. This woman FAILED...She deserves to FAIL. Has she ever stood at the road side and been splashed? I have... Had the driver stopped and given her details, she would have been charged...Although not an accident in the accepted understanding. She should have stopped. Not sopping was compounding the fault. |

No, it's not crazy.
She is lucky the police didn't observe her because it is classed as driving without due care and attention.

it is an actual offence to splash someone on the side of the road like that, but I'm surprised he didn't just give her a warning |

She was driving without due care and attention.
In law that is a traffic offence and the examiner was correct to fail her. |

Good for the examiner.I don't drive yet and have spent years at bus stops being splashed by careless drivers. Its horrible to start one's day soaked and with no other clothes to change into.By law a driver is required to slow down when approaching puddles and to have consideration for pedistrians. |

Be considerate. Be careful of and considerate towards all types of road users, especially those requiring extra care (see Rule 204).
204
The most vulnerable road users are pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and horse riders. It is particularly important to be aware of children, older and disabled people, and learner and inexperienced drivers and riders.
Pedestrians
205
There is a risk of pedestrians, especially children, stepping unexpectedly into the road. You should drive with the safety of children in mind at a speed suitable for the conditions.
Sorry, with the examiner on this one. It would appear that she was driving too fast for the prevailing conditions
She failed. She should get over herself and try again |

So the examiner would have preferred the driver to swerve into the path of an oncoming vehicle, rather than driving through a puddle.
What a load of nonsense. |

I am an ex driving instructor and have complained directly to the Driving Standards Agency and have told them how disgusted I am with this and have said that I hope they apprehend the examiner! |

Yes a bit crazy, I bet she was just purely sh*t at driving, or just annoying, probably deserved it anyhow, otherwise the examiner would probably have given it a blind eye. Apparently you can get into some serious trouble if you do splash someone, I believe it can be seen as assault, not sure though, may be wrong, but there again I've passed my test so just one last message for her. You are driving down a road, on your test. So, we can safely assume that you have had sufficient lessons to understand the rules and courtesies of driving.
Up ahead, is a hazard. It is a large puddle next to a person waiting at a bus stop. What do you do?
a) Slow down, use your mirrors, check there is no on-coming traffic to drive safely around the puddle. If on-coming traffic, be prepared to stop.
b) Keep going, drive straight through puddle leaving pedestrian dripping wet from head to foot.
c) Slow right down and drive through puddle without causing a splash.
If any of you lot thought b was the correct answer then you should not be either behind a wheel or even a driving instructor!!.
I note that it was a female driver that is complaining because she failed her test. Is she really so dim that she thinks it is OK to drench pedestrians as she drives along? The reason women are so poor at driving, is that they have no understanding of other road users, be they walking, riding or driving. |
