About drunk driving. Should we care about?

not at all, they should build an outhouse in his honor if they do anything. Its not difficult to not drink and drive. people who do that are stupid, period.

Well, your kind of right, it was his choice to drink and drive. It's just good he didn't kill anyone else, because of him drinking and driving.

I know a lot of people who have been killed by drunk drivers, and those people have done nothing wrong.

no you're not...the only time i find drunk driving a tradegy is when someone other than the drunk driver is hurt.

You are absolutely right. This person made the choice to get drunk and get into a car. By the way, you say high school, so assuming you are in America and the person is still under 21, not only did this student do a stupid thing, he also broke the law. Your schools money should not be wasted to remember a person who did such a stupid thing. Instead, it should be spending money on prevention programs or at least books and computers.

ok you are right because he probably was taught not to yet he did it anyways.If his or her parents drank he should of learned from what they where doing.Yes it was his fault because he had the chose to not to do it yet he did it anyways.This is exactly why you shouldn`t Drive Under the Influence

The school is wrong for remembering a guy who as a result of his actions to drive drunk, he lost his life. I see your point. This was no freak accident. A freak accident is when a sober driver hits a deer that ran in front of their car.

You are right to oppose this statue.

If the statue will remind future students that this death was the result of driving while intoxicated, and that prevents them from driving while intoxicated and save lives, then it is worth building.

If the statue will only help to remember him, and not how he died, then I see your point.

No you are not wrong to oppose a monument, but a placard attached to the tree would be appropriate, and a photo off the treeat the school.

I feel that it is his fault, however, putting up a statue and carrying the story for years to come of the school will symbolize to the students how important it is to NOT drink and drive.
