how do you disable airbags in cars?
i tried, but im confused

Many cars - but not all - have a switch facility to disable airbags; try looking in the handbook. However, you need to be very sure as to why you would want to disable this important safety protection and confident that disabling it is a positive step |

You cannot disable an airbag in the drivers seat, whereas the front passenger seat you can deactivated with a press of a button or turn of a key in only in some middle to upper class vehicles, cheaper vehicles do no have this features. |

buzbub, if your friend ended up with a broken neck from a 30 mph collision, with the airbag going off, she wasn't belted in properly, she wasn't sitting properly in her seat, or she didn't have a clue how to set the head rest high enough, which is a vital part of the safety equation. |

bea,i like you dont like air bags,my girl friend hit a small tree at 30 miles an hour,air bag hit her in head and she broke her neck and is now dead because of it. |

This reminds me of a true story I heard whilst working for the VW group. A Golf driver in germany had his passenger airbag "deactivated" so that he could have a baby seat on the seat. He was involved in an accident and the passenger airbag went off. From that day on VAG group dealers would never deactivate them for customers. |

Pop the hood and pull the fuse in the control box, then pull the fuse under the dash. Once that is done, find the sensors on the frame/body by the front bumper and rip them off.
Or you can run into a telephone pole like my brother did 3 days after he bought his new truck. |

Remove the airbag fuses. Most cars have 2 fuses as a redundant precaution. Or just run into a tree and set them off. |
