No one can really answer that for an individual.
What has been proved is that thinking/braking time is increased significantly when using a mobile phone whilst driving greatly increasing the risk of an accident. Even hands free phones had a significant lag in thinking time.
This basically comes down to the fact that your brain tries to put driving into automatic whilst engaged in thinking about your telephone conversation and takes time to switch back to driving again.
It has certainly been shown that in a number of accidents that the driver was on the phone.
Will you die? What you do by using the phone is put yourself at greater risk of an accident. The most significant risk is probably to others, particularly child pedestrians.
If someone asked you "would you risk killing someone to get a new car?" most rational people would immediately say "NO". Why risk killing someone for the sake of a phone call then? |

Come move to the NL, then we'll see what happens when you use a cellphone in the car... |

(1) people engaged in cell phone conversations missed twice as many simulated traffic signals as when they were not talking on the cell;
(2) people engaged in cell phone conversations took longer to react to those signals than those who did detect them; and
(3) these deficits were equivalent for both hand-held and hands-free cell phone users.
Note that conversation itself disturbs our driving abilities, so just imagine what dialing does.
Are you driving yet??? I see people on the road every day who can't drive worth a crap when that is the ONLY thing they are doing. You think somehow a cellphone in their hand and trying to carry on a conversation INCREASES their attention to the road and the drivers around them? |

No you will not die, but you might be fined or get yourself into some serious car accident due to your lack of concentration while driving. Obviously if the accident is bad enough, it will result in death...but not necessarily so. |

you can get distracted by the person youre talking to or lose control of the steering wheel.
I guess it also depends on your levels of clumsyness and your skill at driving |

The CELLPHONE will never KILL you or make you DIE.
It is other people cars or objects that you bang against. CELLPHONE is just trying to help increase the chances of you getting bang ONLY. |

that should be illegal. Too many people out there don't pay attention to what they are doing as is and then they come out with cell phones and now those very people don't pay any attention at all to driving. |

One hand on the wheel will make it harder to stare in case you need to suddenly avoid something. One ear against the phone will make it hard to hear someone beeping a horn or screeching towards you. Studies have shown that driving while on the cellphone is almost the same as driving drunk. There's no way to tell if you are going to die using the cell phone while driving, but you do certainly increase the odds. |

It's true.
Think about it, you are driving your car in the highway and then "Trin Trin" it's your cellphone. "hello" you say."your wife died" the caller says . then you got hit by a bus because you were doing your happy dance. |

Yes you could die. I have seen people wrecks because they were on cell phones. I also seen people putting on make-up, reading a book and/or newspaper. Also people eat and drink when driving. DRIVING IS A FULL TIME JOB. When you drive you always watch out for yourself and always watch for other driver's. Oh if you can read there mind than you don't have too. They also might be using the cell phone and you using a cell phone and don't see each other. There it is if you get lucky you be dead when you hit each other. Because you didn't see them coming at you. Speed doesn't work either. |

you can get into an accident if you're not used of doing two things at the same time, like driving and talking on the phone. |
