Are Airbags good or bad?

The reason for airbags is the physics behind it. If your going 40 mph and you have a head on collision your car goes from 40-0 mph in less than a second and when that car stops your body is still going 40 mph. Most people think that bags act as a cushion so you dont hit your head on something but in fact it slows the rate at which you stop down dramatically by around 1/3 or 1/4 of the time. The reason they hurt babies is because there brains are not fully developed and when the air bags stop them there brains keep going 40 mph right into the front of there skull and they die pretty much(like how shaken baby syndrome works). It is also one reason why dogs cant stand up in cars they cant predict that you are braking and is real funny to give them a little brake check and watch them almost fall!!! hahah

Airbags, like seat belts, will not keep you from being in a collision...Theoretically, they may keep you from being seriously injured in certain collisions that occur at less than 40 mph...That is the speed the bags are tested at...Above 40 mph and all bets are off.

Definitely good.

I was recently in a high velocity crash (hit another vehicle at about 40 mph) and both of my airbags deployed. I walked away from that accident (as did the people in the other vehicle...chain reaction pileup).

Although getting hit with an airbag is painful, it's far better than the alternative. I walked away with friction burns on my throat and chest and a sternal bruise. My left shoulder was also bruised from the seatbelt. It basically felt like I was kicked in the chest by a horse...a really angry horse.

They are there for a reason. Yes, they can and do cause injury. However, would you rather be thrown into the windshield or steering wheel? Also...always wear a seatbelt, airbags or not.

Once a vehicle has been in an accident in which the airbags deployed, the new airbags must be installed, along with new seatbelts. Airbags cannot be reset. Seatbelts, when strained to the maximum force, may not work properly the next time. My truck has two new airbags (I kept the driver's side airbag...I cut it out) and two new seatbelts...even though I was alone in the vehicle.

Airbags are made as safety devices; however, just like seatbelt if they are used improperly they can cause serious injury. That is why that they require that you turn off the airbag if you put a car seat in the front seat, or an elderly person as the airbag can do more damage than good. However, overall airbags are a great invention.

Airbags are both good and bad, it mainly depends on the car you are buying. You see, if the car is a good quality one and works perfectly then its good. Because mainly sometimes what happens is that if the car you have bought isnt of good quality and all then when the airbags are suppose to work, it would work minutes after that. Otherwise I would say that airbags are good.

They are both good and bad but overall they do save lives as long as you are wearing your seat belts and you are sitting in the seat correctly.................
