Are black sports cars more dangerous?
|
i have a bright red sports car and i have been through so many situations where it seemed as if divine intervention kept me and the car from being destroyed. i have been ran off of roads, highways, and have mashed the brakes so hard that i can then smell all of the tires and often end up crooked in the middle of major roads because of others ignorance, not my fault. i lived in a place where illegal unlicensed immigrant drivers were everywhere. the bright red car seems to be invisible to other drivers in broad daylight. what if i had a black car (at night!), would i still be alive today. i always hear people say black is the best car color, but i would say that black performance car= suicide. what do you think?

I had the pleasure of owning a Lotus Europa John Player Special. The car was only 3'8" at highest point. The John Player Specials were black with inlaid gold pin -striping. I always had to drive with the headlights on during the day to be seen.
I believe dark colored cars are harder to see. Unfortunately, red sports cars scream "pull me over" to the police. |

the color of a car does not classify the amount of danger or safety. To the eyes of car insurance company, red car means high premiums. If god forbid an accident happens, and a person got involved unable to avoid collision regardless of the color of the car,it happens. I had a white car in broad day light and a jeep T-boned me it was unavoidable, happened too fast and the color of my car did not help in any way. Night or day. |

Alright!

If it's dark turn the lights on. The only color I don't like is grey since it's invisible in rain and fog.
It does sound like you have someone looking over your shoulder, or the car is simply good luck. Keep it. |

Black is definitely the most unsafe color on the road. According to a Sweedish study, pink was the safest color, while black cars made up 4% of the cars on the road, but were involved in 22% of all accidents. Daimler-Benz did conclude that white was the safest color, though it was before flourescent paints were used. A University of California study found that the colour of an approaching car influences the driver’s judgement about how far away it is. Blue and yellow made distant objects seem closest. The grey shades made objects seem further away. So, I would have to say that the brighter the colors, the better it seems. Black is definitely the most unsafe color, that's for sure. I hope this helps! |

At night, it doesn't really matter what color your car is because its night. Make sure you have good head lights. My son has had a black muscle car for the last 10 years. Black is most easier to see during the daytime. I agree 100% about other drivers. My son would recommend balck because it looks good on his car. |

I know that insurance rates are actually Higher when you have a red car versus any other color. I have also heard from who knows where, that Red is the most dangerous color car. I have a black Acura and it doesn't stick out at all. |
