And to the other answers, there are all sorts of reasons why you could be in one of those vans.
You get locked up for the night for breach of peace for example, and get transported to the court in the morning, locked in a box in a police van. |

I got taken to court in one after spending the night in the cells. You barely have room to move in the tiny cubicles they have so it would be pretty scary if there was a bad accident if you ended up trapped in one. |
