Are red cars in more accidents than cars of other colors?

No, I think it's the grey and dirty silver cars that are in more accidents because they are so hard to see, i.e. James Dean's silver Spider :(

No, in a recent study cars asphalt colored (dark grey and black) were most likly to be involved in an accendent.

I have heard that as well. But I don't know. My husband has a red car, and has nover been in an accident.

i feel as though darker colored cars are in more accidents they are harder to see at night especiallky in the rain or foggy nights

If they statistically were, insurance would be higher on red cars, and the insurance would ask you "What color is your car?" when you called them for a quote.

They aren't, and they don't.

We owned a 1986 "charcoal Gray" Subaru Wagon. In the 3 years that we owned this car it was hit while stationary 6 times. After the 6th time we said "adios" and got a different car. I understand that Subaru also discontinued this color near the same time. It was a mid-range gray color that evidently doesn't fit into some people's visual range at dusk or afterwards

My cousin owns a body shop. Before buying my last car I asked which color would be best. "Anything but silver - grey. Those cars are over 65% of my business. They seem to get hit all the time!" I bought a bright red convertible. Haven't had a ticket or accident in over 20 years. I'll keep on with the red that I love so much.

I own a "Champaigne" colored honda. When I first purchased the car I noticed a higher frequency of people pulling out in front of my from stop signs, etc. Since that time I have started driving with my lights on at all times. This seems to make my car more visible, and has resulted in fewer people pulling out in front of me.

There was a study done and the study did determine that RED color cars are pulled over more. Alot of times it was the driver, they claim it made them more aggressive on the roadway. Some people claimed it gave them more confidence in a RED colored car.

Not really! Althought you can spot red cars easier and they appear to ride faster to the eye! They do get pulled over more often because of that though!

No. Its just that since red is considered a racing color and it stands out in an enviroment of grey, black, green, and blue cars.
