Are these the wrong tires for my Chevy Malibu, 55's on the front and 65's on the rear?

I just bought a used Chevy Malibu from a Chevy dealership. The tires on the front are 205/55/R15 and on the rear the tires are 205/65/R15. Should all four tires have matched specifications? Is it bad to have 55's on the front and 65's on the rear? I am considering having the dealer correct the problem if it is a problem that they sold the car this way.

It is a 2004 Chevy Malibu - std with 4 cyl.

it wont cause any problems. the difference is that the side wall on the rear tyres is taller than on the fronts. but, as the tyres match on each axle, it is fine.

EDIT: KAM, you could not be more wrong. 205 is the width, and 65 is the height (65% of the width). do you actually think the hight of the tyre wall is nearly 2 feet? back in your biscuit tin sunshine.

The difference in sidewall height between the tires is negligible and will not affect the vehicle dynamics at all. Going to be a bytche at tire rotation time though. You can ask the dealer for matched tires but this configuration does not break any tire sizing rules and he will probably decline.

the front tires are wider than the back,the 205 is the height of the tire in this case 20.5 inches,the 55 and 65 is the width the lower the number the wider the tire tread.the R stands for radial ply tire,and the 15 is the rim size.so if the two tires in front are 55's i would change them too the rear and put the 65's in the front,if both tires are the same on the axle will not cause any problems to your ride,you just cant put a 215/65/r15 on the same axle as a 205/65/r15.the tires are two different height's 215 is an inch taller than the 205.
