i live in the north east ( n.y.c) and i needed new tires cause it has snowed and traction and comfort are important to me ,i had goodyear rsa tires on my car ,the guy changed all for 4 with kuhmo exctasy kh11 tires and with only an inche of snow i feel like i have next no traction ,,are these the wrong type of tires

Z-rated tires will do you no good in winter weather and you should get them off ASAP. They are absolutely not designed for it. They are a performance tire and should only be used in the summer months. I run the same type tires, but only in the summer. What I do for winter, and what I'd recommend for you as well, is purchase a set of steel wheels (proper size & design for your vehicle) and put a full set of 4 good winter tires on them for the winter months. Then when spring rolls around again you just change the wheels with the performance tires back on. This is the most convenient, safest, and cheapest way to have the best of both worlds throughout the year. Good luck. |

Z rating is not for traction, is meant for speed. When you had shopped for tires, you needed to look for traction in wet and dry weather. Like all season radials. An A rating would be the best of course. |
