my boyfriend and three of his friends were driving to a soccer party when a giant truck slipped on a big patch of black ice. the truck swirved and caused four cars to colide. it was a huge car accident and im freaking out so bad my hands are shaking.
i was shoping with my oldest sister when i got a call from my boyfriends sister telling me josh and his friends were in a bad car accident. she was freaking out and crying. at first all she could say was "Josh, oh my god Josh"
they're all Unconscious and all i know about my boyfriends injuries is that he has a badly broken leg and a posible broken rib.
im not sure about the others but my boyfriend is the only one that maters to me at the moment.
im just waiting for my sister to get ready so that we can go to the hospital because her boyfriend was the driver.
im not shur what to do. im only fourteen and my heart is pounding so hard its all i can here. my sister keeps telling me to just come down and that they would be fine.
i dont know why im freaking out so much. i know there all gonna live but im still scared. the car accident was only like fourty minutes ago and though i know my boyfriend is unconscious i still feel like i need to see him.
oh god the last i heard of him we were laughing and he was telling me to have a good time shoping and i was telling him to have a good time at his soccer party.
omg i feel like my heart is in my throat.
should i be freaking out so much? i mean im only fourteen and nothing like this has ever happend to me before.
and how should i act around him when he wakes up?
omg is he gonna show that he is in pain because i'll probably start freaking out and i'll posibly cry. or maybe he'll be too drugged from the pain killers.

holy **** im so scared i am crying. ok im gonna go get my sister so that we can leave already. i know he's not gonna be awake for atleast a couple hours maybe up to two days but i still feel like i need to be there. so answer a.s.a.p. because i need some answers on how i should be taking all this.

Trauma like this for someone so young is tough
Im a few years older than you, but when I was about your age I suffered like you are. I was shaking, I was nervous,I couldn't eat-felt sick.
You are shocked. Plain and simple-an obvious answer but its all it is. Shock is extremely powerful because it has knocked everything you think you knew, changed your life now.
You need to, as other people have said, see your boyfriend, he clearly means a great deal to you.
Secondly you need to cry. Crying is our way of letting out grief and the biggest mistake you can make now is not to. If you don't work all the grief out of your system then it might develop into guilt,or worse PT SD.
Broken legs are fixable. At worst he'll have trouble with sore muscles. Ribs are a little more serious but by now I'm guessing you know what kind of damage has been done. The body is extremely resilient-it can fix itself even in the most hopeless of situations.
As for what to say to him: you love him, you are there, you know he is going to get better. He will probably show that he is in pain, but there is nothing you can do-just comfort him. For him the scariest part of this will be being without the people he loves.

Some deal with car accidents differently than others. There are two things you need to understand. The first thing is, you do need to calm down and relax. Focus on other things until it is time to go see him in the hospital. Secondly it is ok to be scared or nervous. These things do happen. Just know that your boyfriend is alright. The good news is that he is still alive. You should have hope in that. Now I would recommend you talk to a counselor. When these things happen, you never want to deal with this on your own. You need to talk about how you feel with someone who is qualified to give you assistance. It is never easy for a loved one to be in danger, and knowing there isn't much you can do. Talk to a school counselor when you have a chance. Also talk to your parents about this or a close family member. My point is keep all lines of communication open. You don't want to slip into a depression about this. Everything will be fine, all you have to do is pray, and keep your mind on good things while he is in recovery. I am wishing the best for you and your boyfriend. I hope he has a speedy recovery. |

i can understand how you feel,after all,it would be bad at any age but you're only 14.take your big sister with you for moral support,i'm sure your boyfriend would be very glad to see you.just try to act naturally and just be yourself,i know it's upsetting,but he will be ok, |
