Blue and White German Road Sign?

My german teacher showed us a sign yesterday and it was blue and white like a courtyard and it was diamond shaped. Maybe the outer part is a blue square, then a white square, another blue and another white or the other way around. Does anyone know what it is and could they get a picture possibly, thanks!

I am certain, it is the road sign you are looking for!. But i don`t know why you german teacher told you it`s a german road sign, because it isn`t. Well, maybe it was decades ago or it is for very specialized vehicles like ships, boats or trains, but it`s definitively NOT for standard drivers of cars, motorbikes or truck drivers on streets. I am native german and made my driving license in germany :) If your teacher don`t believe you and still thinks it`s a german road sign, ask her where she got that info or advice her to ask the question in yahoo ;-)
