Booster Seat For a Short Driver?

I'm very short and need something to help me see when I'm driving. I've tried using a phone book, but I ended up just sliding off, which makes it even more dangerous. I've looked for booster seats, but they're all for toddlers. Do they make adult sized booster seats? Or what else could I look for?

you can purchase booster seat cushions for adults (google search) but using one may place you too close to the air bag (closer than 10") and you may be too far away from the pedals. A better solution is to find a car that fits. My wife is 5' tall, when we had a toyota corolla with manual seats she needed a booster cushion to drive. we purchased a 2005 Chevy Malibu LT. it has a power driver's seat, tilt and telescoping steering wheel and adjustable pedals. My wife drives this car with no booster cushion, seat forward, steering wheel forward and pedals back. This is a safe and comfortable position for her and she loves driving because the car fits. |

I did a study on height so I hope I can help you.
It is possible to get booster seats for smaller adult drivers. I can't recommend a particular one but a google search is a good start.
If you're saving money then you definitely need something with a grippy top surface (that was why you slid off the phone book).
Remember that you must not get too close to a steering wheel with an airbag (10 inches) because if you do and it goes off it could kill you.
One problem is that sitting higher up can make the pedals further away, but if that's the case you can also get pedal extenders.

No such thing as short. You're either vertically challenged or you're fun sized. Not short.
Depending on what type of car you have, it may be possible to unbolt the rear mounting bolts of the seat and put spacers under the seat mounts to "jack up" the rear, which would raise your posterior region to a level that can accommodate the need to see where you're going. You may need to get longer bolts, but you will find that if it's done just right it will also be easier to reach the pedals.
