Can I drive out of state with a Drivers Permit?

I'm 16 and I have my Minnesota Drivers Permit. I'm going to WI with my 25 year old brother and we are wondering if I'm able to Drive in WI. I've googled, and I can't find the answer so does anyone know??

If your brother is considered a qualified driver, meaning that if you were driving in MN, he could legally sit in the vehicle with you when you are driving- then it should be OK for him to allow you to drive when you go to WI.

You will still have to obey all of the restrictions on your permit when it comes to passengers, driving hours, etc or you can get a ticket for violating the restrictions.

Most states will honor an out-of-state Permit & allow you to drive in their state as long as you follow the rules for your permit when you drive in that state.

My brother drove with a learner's permit out of state (in WI actually) while we were on vacation. I don't think there's any law against it, but it depends on the laws in your home state. But the state of WI may not know about Minnesota laws, so I don't think you'll get in trouble for this.

Yes...........

In order to drive in Wisconsin with a Learner’s Permit issued by other states, drivers must be 16 years of age, follow the restrictions of their own licenses or permits, and follow the rules of the road, traffic laws, of Wisconsin.

Most likely not. My learners permits only allow for certain times and areas.

No. You can only drive in the state of issue.
