Chevrons are classed as no go areas...if you park on these your vehicle is likely to be ticketed,towed or impounded |

These are 'ghost' islands and exist to separate traffic flows. It is not a specific offence as such to aprk on them, but therer are offences such as causing obstruction, or leaving the vehicle in a dangerous position, which would/could be used. The fact that you are parked on these markings would be given as evidence to support the chatge. CeeCee |

yes it is they r there to seperate traffic flows and road to pavement areas they r not to be driven on exept in emergencies you r unlikly to get a ticket if you were broken down but would if you were shopping |

The answer is probbaly no, depending on the State that you live in. The "chevron" markings as you call them are usually designated as a safety zone for emergencies such as disabled autos. It can also provide an emergency bail out spot for driver's faced with an imminent collision directly in front of them.
In NYS, it's a traffic infraction to park or otherwise leave a vehicle in the stripes except for emergency or direction of a qualified/authorized person (police officer, traffic agent, etc). |
