Can city cops read your speed ON the Toll Roads?

I live in McKinney, TX and take 121 Toll Road to work. I've only seen state cops on it and city cops stay on the service road... whats up with that?

The city cops can clock you from the service road with radar and radio the state cops to stop you. It's called "Police Cooperation". Smile, wave and stay within the speed limit.

Every place has state and local police. Usually they share the jurisdiction so you will see state on some roads and county or city on others. Radar is an air wave and can definitely be sent and received on a service road. Just drive the limit and you will have no worries.

Friendly Stranger..
Yes. Cops can read your speed on toll roads. Most if not all law enforcement vehicles are integrated with devices that can clock your speed. of course we know those to be speed radars. A cop can clock you and see how fast you are going at any time on any road. There is no law against it. Even if there is a cop following you they can find out what speed you are traveling at. So yes they can read your speed.

I would assume that its this way because its a toll road and the people that violate the fines are better handled by the state troopers...........
