Can driving really fast fool the speed camera?

If I drive the car to sth like 150mphs, will it be too fast for the camera to catch me?

Mythbusters say no, but Top Gear says yes - check the article below...

"TVR Tuscan S driven by the Stig passed a speed camera at over 170 mph, and the camera never went off"

well traffic camera is made to capture and detect as fast as 200 mph, unless you are superman, the flash or speedster.

drive safe dear.

Kev
No. They'd be able to tell and they'd still see your number plate.

Lets be honest, if you can drive fast enough to get out of range of a camera before it goes off, you're either stark raving mad (and deserve to die!) or you're driving on a special race track that won't have any cameras on!
Driving at 150mph plus in a vain attempt to fool the camera will only end in tears.

You have to drive a LOT faster to beat a camera lens. You don't have a car capable of such speed, believe me.

Just remember you don't have to pay the fine if you are dead.

Try and find out, then you will know, but be prepared to be banned, and insurance to be very high.

No it was actually proven on Mythbusters, a discovery channel program, that you could never fool the speed camera. The only way to fool it would be to have a bogus plate and be able to switch your plates while driving before the camera catches your real plate. Can't find the exact broadcast but I'm sure if you look it up in Youtube or any video community sites you should find it.

Why are people talking about Mythbusters and that they proved that you can't fool the camera. Both Top Gear and Mythbusters proved that you CAN fool the camera. Top Gear did it in TVR at 180MPH Mythbusters did it in a rocket car at 245MPH. So yes it can fool the camera.

There's no way you will get up to 150 mph. And no, the cam will still get you.

Acctually all these people are wrong. You can. Top gear tried it in a TVR and they had to go up to 170MPH. At this speed the camera only gets one picture and cannot take the number plate

I have an experience of driving crazily fast (well, I consider fast) on a trip, the max speed touching is 207km/h... I passed 3 speed traps, without getting any ticket. Yes, I have confirmed no ticket issued because it was already 1.5 years ago. one of my friends also shared an opinion that 160km/h and above is the minimum speed where speed camera can't capture the clear image. it's only hipotheses but I have quite some faith in it... Well, just a note, I crashed a car and the divider lightly on both sides of my car in an inevitable incident in the same trip. Lightly with high speed was scary enough, though.
