Double yellow lines mean 'No Waiting' therefore anyone can stop to set down or pick up but they cannot wait there, anyone breaking the rule may find themselves with a parking fine usually about £60
Zig Zag lines however carry a much heavier penalty and there is absolutely 'NO STOPPING' breaking this rule would render the offender 3 penalty points on their licence plus a monetary fine and it doesn't matter if they are Royal Mail or not these rules (Road traffic law) applies to all. |

Yes of course they can. The question is whether or not it is legal or not?
Royal mail vehicles, or more importantly, the drivers of the same, are subject to the same laws of the road as everybody else.Being "Royal" doesn't give them any right to abuse them. |

Royal mail vans can park on double yellow lines. Infact any vehicle can park on double yellow lines if they are loading/unloading. I believe if they park on zig zag lines they can get points and a fine. |
