You may have a problem with the idling. Sometimes the car's internal computer may have an issue which causes the idling to get worse (stopping in traffic). You might need to replace the internal computer. I would take the car to the shop as soon as possible before it gets worse.

If it's a standard transmission than it's probably stalling.

I've had this problem before. Usually it means the car thinks you are not in it/using in. The car thinks it is not in use.
It also could be a problem with the car.
If it is a cheap car, you might want to exchange it, because this problem may not be able to be fixed.
Find a car that's not cheap, but affordable. Make sure there are no bugs/errors.

If this problem can be fixed, take it to a mechanic immediately.
Or take it to a car shop. Like Pep boys.

First you need to scan the vehicles computer so that you can see what is going on with the vehicle but it could be a bad fuel filter, a bad fuel pump, a battery or alternator or just about anything.......
