Yes you can---but it is not advisable for several reasons---one is that sediment and impurities in the envoirnment can get into your tank easily corrupting your tank and fuel line----it is an open invite for anyone with a mind to do so (or lack of one) to put stuff into your tank that can be extremely harmful to your engine----and also (with gas prices being what they are ) it is an open invite for those with a tube to steal you blind---the first trip in they will make the cost of a replacement (found at any auto parts store) seem a trivial expense in the least----hope this helps------ |

Generally speaking, most cars are not supposed to be driven without a 'gas cap.'
BUT, most cars will not 'blow up' even if you try to make them.
(I think you watch too much TV) |

Yes.But i wouldn't fill up the gas tank to much or make any sharp, quick ,steep turns.
P.S.You can get cheap gas caps at a junkyard or autoparts store. |
|

Alright!
|
Some cars will not run correctly as they need the cap on tight in order to build a vacuum. |

Yes you can drive it and no you won't blow up. Your car my loose the pressure it needs in the gas tank though. Go buy a cap they're like $3. |

No, there is no problem driving without a gas cap for awhile, it won't blow! Check this out: I used to have this 1981 GMC 1/2 ton short bed that I used for deliveries for my business. As I started out my day the engine on my truck started to sputter then it would stall out and die. After a few times pulling over and priming the carb., the fuel pump quit pumping altogether and I was down for the count. Here's what I did ( swear to God!) I got a 21/2 gal. red plastic gas can, put a couple of gallons in it, tied the container to the windshield wiper post with some lite string, cracked the hood and routed a 1/4"x 4' piece of clear tubing from the gas can to the bottom of the carb..I fired it up and it ran like a top, I didn't replace the fuel pump until 2 days later. The cops never batted an eye as I cruised along with this red gas can attached to the hood with this tube coming out of it, it worked great! |

While your car won't necessarily blow up, newer cars with the OBDII (Onboard Diagnostics, generation 2) computers will actually cause your check engine light to come even if your gas cap isn't tightened down all the way, much less missing.
Go to your local auto parts store and buy a gas cap. They can usually be gotten for around $5-10. If you're nice they'll even put it on for you. |

well your gas will evaporate over time. and if an ignition source got near the port, the fumes could ignite, but since there isn't enough oxygen inside the gas tank to burn you shouldn't blow up. |

Yes you can but you will get a check engine light;and you will lose gas so if I were you I'd go to a auto part store and get a new one |
