Sure. If it says "don't park here from X to Y", and it's between X and Y, you can get a ticket. Otherwise it would say "don't park after X until sweeper came by", wouldn't it? |

Yes. Cop and sign say no parking, then it's illegal. |

Well yeah. If it is posted, not to park during certain hours, then it means not to park there, during those certain hours. |

Most cities in my area, (Orange County, Ca.) have stopped doing that because they were sued and had to refund money.
You see, the "intent" of the law is to prevent cars from blocking the sweepers, so if you move and then park there again after the sweeper has passed, you are legal. (most places)
If cities issue citations AFTER the sweeper has passed, then it becomes "revenue enhancement" rather than a street sweeper access issue. |

of course because you are breaking the law by not following the times posted. It didn't say no parking until street sweeping comes along it is about the time. You of course have a better chance of not getting a ticket after the street sweeper has passed but there's no guarantee as the street sweeper could come back around again or an parking officer or police officer happens to see your car. You are taking a risk and if you get caught you have to pay the fines. Better to find parking someone else |
