I am 18. I just got my license but I can't really drive anywhere because I don't have a car. I can't take out a loan because i have no credit. my parents can't either, their credit is shot. i applied for student aid but that will take a while beause i am not atarting school right away.

I can help with some advice: get a job!
You are not starting school right away, your parents need help, you need to do something constructive with your time! Get a job, stash cash in the bank, get a credit card with a limit of what cash you have in the bank, start building up a good credit history. Couple of years and you will be able to finance a car with just 20% down. You have 60 or 70 years ahead of you, you don't want to be broke for that long. |

Here is a tip, get a job. Just because you have no credit doesn't mean you can't get a job. Don't sit back waiting for something to happen. You need to go out there and make something happen. Also relying on your parents isn't the best idea in your situation. You said they have bad credit, well that option is obviously out. I suggest you go find a job that pays you a decent amount of money. If you want a car, you have to work for it. No one is going to hand you anything in life. Handouts are for those that don't take the initiative. Its a difference between being poor, and getting assistance, and being someone who is capable of working and getting a job. Work for the car you want instead of asking for someone to get you the car. Take responsibility for yourself. |
