OK so a few weeks ago, I was only a massive bus with some people from my school and their families (you know the tour bus celebs use while on tour, it was LIKE that kind of bus) so any way, it wasn't to hot or glary, the roads were not wet, and a lot if us were standing up at the time.
A massive truck came skidding down the other ide of the road, sideways, and smashed into the side of out bus nearly knocking it over.
All the windows smashed and everyone standing up went flying backwards.
And the driver came up to us asking if were were alright etc.
And when the police and ambos got there the police were saying how we were have to pay a fine for driving so fast on a dangerous road!!
We were all covered in bruises and and cuts but we knew what was going on and we were not going over te limit and the guy in the truck was the one who smashed into us.
So does anyone know why we got fined?

maybe when the police arrived the position of both vehicles made it seem like the bus driver was to blame. |

Maybe you shouldn't have been standing up in a moving vehicle. And you said it already, they fined you for driving too fast. If you don't think it's fair (and the driver was not going over the limit), go to court and dispute it. |

I would need more details on the complete accident for me to say anything but if that's not possible then get the police report and talk with the insurance company as well as with a lawyer. |

Maybe because when the bus is in motion all of the people on the bus should of been seated. Anyone that was injured may not of been so severe had they been in their seat. Also they do read skid marks that will result in time lapse of impact and that will show who saw who first and who was traveling at what speed and if they had the vehicle in control. My guess is the truck driver was by himself and probably dozed off but since your party was not seated that may be why. Just guessing of course. |

How big was the bus?
How many people inside?
What was speed limit?
How fast was the bus traveling?
Was the driver sober? |

well are you sure you were going on the limit? it could be that the trucker told the cop that you guys were speeding. if not i wouldn't think it was fair. |
