Child car seats?
Find answers to your legal question.

Child car seats?

now that the new laws for child car seats come into force does that mean we will no longer see stupid irresponsible people and parents letting their kids just float about in the back and front seats of their car while they are safley strapped into their seats themselves.

I sincerely hope that will be the case;

As parents we are responsibl, for the safety of their children

Make sure they are safely, secured, in the car, before moving off .

Whether we have sufficient police, to enforce this law is debatable .

But penalties for ignoring this law are high, and i hope will bring any waverers to their senses .

Tragedy ( the maiming or death of a child )i
s a terrible price to pay for neglect .

You be safe ----and Keep those children safe in your car ,

PLEASE .

There will always be stupid people who ignore the law, they think they are clever, Not so clever if they have an accident and it's to late to be sorry.

What country is this? In the US the laws are really strict (big fines for kids not strapped in) and I still see it all the time. Drives me crazy!

Unfortuately i am sure there will still be the "my childs a free spirit" and the "for a quiet life" brigade.

It was January 31st 1983 when the law requiring seat belts to be worn in the front seats were introduced and look at the number who still don't / won't wear them.

Not alot of hope really though I am sure it will net the Government a load of money.

I doubt if it will stop because of the get out clauses all they have to say is that its a local journey or there isn't a car seat available and they will get away with it.

No...because I'm still seeing loser parents toting their tots around in the backseat...them standing, hangin arms out the window...or in the front with them, right where either the air bag is gonna kill them or they're gonna be flying out of the windshield if in an accident...It makes me so angry watching these people just toss their kids in the car like a material object such as their purse or gym bag. People need to wake up, but unfortunately they usually don't until the "impossible" happens to them. My husbands family even gets irritated with me because I will not allow any of my children to ride in their vehicles unless they use the proper car seats needed.....they all think it takes too much time and wastes room...Goes to show how much they think my kids lives are worth!!

Thats the plan, it will be intertesting to see how much its inforced.

I don't think so because of all the 'politically correct' do-gooders around. provided you don't allow your children to travel without a seat belt, there should be no problem. As far as the law is concerned it should be a case of 'don't do as we do, do as we say'. As tight as the law may be, there will always be 'get out of jail' clauses built in.

no because those idiots that allow this don't take notice of laws - seat belt laws were already in place that they ignore

I hope these people get caught. I keep seeing parents letting their children climb all over the place in moving vehicles. Then they get all frustrated when they get caught and cannot understand what the big deal is. It just makes me so angry, especially when you see that they are wearing their seat belt but they don't make their children wear one.

Not a chance I am afraid. Only last week, I saw a couple, and the wife had the child on her lap in the front seat.
There was no one in the back, and the kid looked about 3. CRAZY

You will still see it because People who are doing it now will still continue to do it, because they do not care enough for it to matter to them, it is only when an accident happens that they do something about it. which is a sad state of affairs.

Probably, but hey, there are a lot of irresponsible people in the world, so don't get your hopes up just yet; even people who are in the limelight endanger their kids (i.e. Britney Spears) so, you might see less recklessness on the streets but that will definitely not end all of it.
