Child in the car on a provisional license supervised?

Is it legal to have your child in the car with you while driving on a provisional license if you have a supervisory full license holder beside you? My bf has been driving for 4 years and supervises me, and i'm insured on my car and everything, but im a little murky on whether or not my son can travel when i'm driving. I haven't done it yet because I don't want to break any laws!

I've had a fair few lessons now and am pretty competant at driving so if it is legal i'd like to start doing it now..

In the UK yes it is legal, just the usual laws regarding child seats and the instructor being over 21 and having held a license for at least 3 years.

I know someone who took her two young children on her driving lessons with a instructor on the principle that she would be driving around with them in the car once she passed her test and would rather get used to having the kids in the car while she had the instructor there as a saftey net.

I always had my children in the car with me on my provisional, if they were sleeping my driving instructor even let me bring them along when I couldn't get a sitter. So I would assume yes.

It best to either go or call the DMV in your area.

You are allowed passengers, as long as everyone is secure- seat belts are buckled and a licensed driver is with you. And everyone is insured and has the proper identification.
