I just got a citation a little over an hour ago. I live in Hawai'i and was wondering how much does this affect my premiums for my car insurance? This is my first ticket; i'm 19 years of age.
How many points do I get and how long does it stay?

The increase depends on your company and when they "see" the ticket; they don't always check your record on every renewal due to the cost of doing it ($25-$50 a pop), but they will see it at some point; then you'll know for sure.
