Clutch/Traffic?
Find answers to your legal question.

Clutch/Traffic?

When i get stuck in traffic cars will move just a lil bit forward, therefore i dont really need to let my clutch all the way out when i move forward i normally jus let it out until i move up behind the car and then push it back in. Is this bad for the clutch? Will it burn it out?

yes

No, but it will cause a little wear on the clutch disc. Not much you can do about it though. That's just part of driving.

cop350zx
It's designed to work that way.

They all will wear out eventually.

Sure, riding the clutch will wear it out faster, but not that fast.

no easy does it be nice to it and it will be nice to you

It's what I would consider normal usage and wear and tear on the clutch. Don't worry about it.

Clutches only burn out when you hold the gear too long. Like backing up a hill. Etc. if you are not holding the gear for a long time you will be ok.

It's not good on your clutch to ride it slowly. I would put the car in neutral and engage the gears only when you need to move. Use your brake more instead of the clutch, and coast if your going downhill.

its not really bad but its not extremely good either. I do it all the time. As long as you are not riding you clutch while you are going down the highway you are fine.

Actually the clutch plate is designed to withstand heat to a certain degree that is specifically tested for resistance for things such as in rush hour traffic.

Slippage is necessary for any clutch and therfore your going to be alright unless you actually hold the slip constant and that would be like going up a hill and not actually letting off the clutch and in doing that you will burn it up because your exceeding the limits designed for the clutch plate.

The entire time you push in on the clutch you are wearing on it.
