Why is it that deaf people are permitted to drive but hearing people cannot wear musical headsets while driving?

very excellent points. The hearing should be as observant as most deaf drivers seem to be. I am definitely not saying that the deaf shouldn't be entitled the same rights. Just sort of wondered...so thank you!

there are plenty of reasons.
if where always hearing not as observant with eyes as Deaf. You are wear headsets cant hear police or see lights flash.

You need to compare apples to apples and when a deaf person is driving not only are they more aware of their surroundings they are paying more attention than someone with a set of headphones on......
