Did anyone learn how to parallel park by looking out the driver's window while backing into the parking place?

I learned this method in Driver's Education years and years ago, and can't find anything about it on the Internet. My friends don't believe me since it sounds so far-fetched.

No...whoever's been teaching you is a numbnut. You look out the rear passenger window (blind spot), driver's side blind spot (out the back window), and directly out of the back window to look for pedestrians.

I learned to parallel park using my rear view mirror, I don't understand why you would look out the drivers window unless you were using the mirror.

Yes, I learned it years ago as well. As I remember it the tape is placed vertically in the middle of the back driverside window (yes the driverside). Pull your vehicle forward to line up the front pylons to your rear bumper on the passenger side, stop, then turn wheel clockwise all the way, back up until the tape meets the pylon in the rear, then turn you wheel counterclockwise to park.

Yes I did! But only after a piece of tape was place vertically in the middle of the driverside back window. After pulling the car forward so that the pylons are in line (on the passenger side) with the rear bumber, turn wheel clockwise all the way, back up until the tape in the middle of the driverside back window is in line with the pylons in the back (or head lights of car in back), turn wheel counterclockwise and continue in reverse to park.
