What does "disciplined driving" actually mean? By whose standards do we choose to follow? Isn't that what the DMV/government has already tried to instill in us, by making us take a driver's education class followed with a driving course and test? If everyone who drove, remembered that it's a PRIVILEGE to be able to drive, and paid more attention to actually driving and following the rules of road, speed limits, and remembered/followed what they had to read in the drivers handbook/manual, we would have a safer driving experience.
Stop talking on the phone, stop turning around to yell at your kids, stop reading, putting on make-up, driving with one hand on the wheel, while the other holds a burger...come on...
YES! Disciplined driving IS one road-- of many roads, to ensuring human safety. It's just so often ignored! We all have to remember that we SHARE the roads, and driving with complete disregard to others can lead to serious outcomes....I always want to ask those who cause serious accidents & damage, or death of another person..."Was it worth it to speed? or put that lipstick on? or not have your kid in a car seat??" I have seen (because of my career) the end result repeatedly over the last 10 yrs, of bad driving, and its sad & ugly ways it tragically takes away life.
We should all ask ourselves the next time we speed through a school zone...What would happen if I ran over someone's child right now....what would I do if someone ran over my child? Please be responsible. |
