Do Trraffic rules vary from state to state or are they pretty standard everywhere?

Im thinking of doing a road trip and was wondering Do Trraffic rules vary from state to state or are they pretty standard everywhere? Will something that is perfectly acceptable in New York get me in trouble in Virgina? Are traffic rules pretty standar nationwide?
Thanks

Basically, the laws are similar but some will have little differences. In Florida, if you're out of state, it's legal to have a radar detector but not use it. Some states have different laws on passing on the right. Some it's legal and some it isn't.

Some require two plates, one in the front and one in the back, but if your state only requires the one in the back, you won't be stopped.

If you have a permit to carry a pistol in Georgia and go to some northern states you'll have trouble as in a few states, handguns are illegal.

Most have the same limit on DUI but some have different penalties.

If you're out of state, you may be targeted for a ticket as you're easy money for a Barney Fife. It's a scam from the moment the blue light comes on.

Yes, they are pretty much standard. Some states don't allow RADAR detectors.

Some states also have a sign on the freeway that says "Slower Traffic Keep Right". This isn't a suggestion, it's a law. The sign is regulatory, white with black lettering, like a speed limit sign.

I live in VA. We are a common wealth State. The laws are alot different. No radar dectors allowed !!Speed limit max is 65 mph, on interstates. Seatbelt manditory !! Headlights on when raining. Window tint is different than N.Y. Speeding in VA. if over 10 mph. automatic 1000.00 fine ! The police here are hard on non-resident drivers. Good luck and drive safe !

There pretty much standard. But some states do allow thing others don't. Like right turns on red. If your not sure about something don't do it. Remember ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Each state has its own laws, but they are amazingly similar. Don't speed, etc.

Yeah most rules are the same, but there are some differences state to state.
