Do cops stop party buses on prom night?

I live in NY and my prom is next month. My friends and I are all going on a party bus and they are planning on bringing alcohol.
I am not planning on drinking so I would not want to get in trouble because of them.

I heard that the police stop every party bus on prom night to check for alcohol and drugs.
Is this true? Does anyone know from a past experience?

Will they arrest us or give us a fine?
Will it be different if they get drunk somewhere else so the cans won’t be on the bus?

Any information would really help. Thanks.

Not every bus but they do stop them at random and yes if alcohol is present all will be arrested including the driver as well....

you could easily get stopped and you will get a fine maybe detox or arrested. no it wont matter if they drink somewhere else alcohol is really easy to smell on people

Don't go with them if you feel uncomfortable. Are you even of legal age to drink?
Even if you dont drink and your bus does get pulled over, EVERYONE in the bus will be fined or arrested depending on the amount of alcohol you have on the bus.

If your friends insist on drinking, go somewhere where you are less likey to get caught. Better that, DONT GO WITH THEM DRINKING!

I got pulled over one night and my friends in the back were drinking and we all got arrested and brought to the police station. Thankfully they didn't charge us. But that got me realizing that I could have ruined my future by getting a DUI in my record.

Bottom line, dont let one night of fun ruin your life.
