okay i have this fear that im going to crash into somebody or hurt somebody thats why im scared to get my license i am 19 years old.... all my friends tell me the more i drive it will become like second nature to me very easy is this true?

First of all, driving is something that you have to practice at. You don't suddenly become a good driver by doing it one time. You need to practice each time. Driving takes time to learn like anything else. Once you have done it for a few times you will begin to gain confidence. What you need to do is first learn the rules of the road. Also know that you must get your learner's license before you can drive. I suggest you study for the exam and take the test. Once you have passed the test and learned the rules of driving then drive. Ask someone to drive with you. You are of age to drive by yourself at 19 but ask someone else to go with you to help you build confidence. Also take small steps. Don't just drive in busy areas. Start off in a parking lot and work your way to side streets and small neighborhoods. Driving is a skill you have to develop. Being afraid will get you nowhere. If you are afraid of having an accident then build confidence first. You can do it. Just try. |

Yes, that is true. I was nervous when I first started driving too, but that's normal. After you get used to driving, you do it in your sleep (well, not really), but you get what I mean. I encourage you to learn how to drive and get your license and after you're driving for awhile, you'll wonder why you worried so much. At least I did. Usually when you worry or have a fear about something, you'll see it wasn't that much of a fear after all. |
