Speed bumps do not cost lives.
Emergency vehicles are high enough to cope with them, everybody else should learn to drive properly. If you are silly enough to lower a road-going car so much that it hits speed bumps then that's your problem. |

Where did you get your facts and like the man said if people learned to drive and obey the law we would not need them. If some one has lowered their car that is their problem. The factory set it up and if they changed it so be it. |

Yes, but if people first learned to drive and then did not drive their cars as if they were in a race, that might solve the problem. |

What's your source of this information? I don't recall reading it anywhere or seeing it on the news.
And I've never heard of a speed bump "costing" anybody their life, much less 8 times the number of lives without a speed bump!
How much would emergency vehicles be slowed down? A minute or so? That logically would not lead to 8 times as many deaths, would it? |

Eight times?
And how did those at Oxford determine the cost of a human life? |

you are probably right, but rather financial cost that lives lost. Many of the speed bumps are in residential areas, so children are around, and the fact that they do slow vehicles somewhat. However there are some that contravene the height levels as one motorist pointed out when his small car was damaged. |

It doesn't surprise me.
What is your source anyway that it's 8 times? |

Flawed, flawed and flawed. That is nothing more than the opinion of a few. And opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one & most of them stink. |

Yes I agree but someone with nothing else better to do will complain that speed bumps are needed or the state will need to spend the additional monies before the end of the monthly quarter,......... |
