Bicycles are considered vehicles and must obey the same rules as cars and trucks.
Bicycles, like cars and trucks, are not permitted on sidewalks.

Bikes are supposed to be on the side of the road, not on the sidewalk. So, you have the right of way. |

you are right, they are wrong. they should be on the road anyway, but pedestrians have the right of way. |

side walks are for walking,, roads are for riding so you didnt have to move but then you could have been riding their handle bars and you could have help them get it right with a push... could have wave they a round and let them ring their little bells al they wanted too you get a ticket for riding a bike on the side walks in some places |

The general rule is that anyone on a 24" bicycle or larger should be on the street.Or walking it.If it is on an area that's meant for both, then the bicyclist needs to be more considerate toward the pedestrian. |

YES unless it is a dedicated Bicycle lane
Bicycles must give way to Pedestrians
simple a person in a wheelchair gives way a man on crutches does not a pedestrian has right of way on a FOOTPATH even if it is shared |

Yes you do have right of way. They should be on the road. Period. If that was me and they behaved like that to me, I would push them onto the road and tell them to F**k off. |

You should. if they are on the rode they have the right. |

Pedestrians always have right of way. In addition, bikes should not be on the sidewalk to begin with so you should politely tell the people ringing thier bells at you to get off the sidewalk. |

"Remember, pedestrians have the right-of-way on sidewalks; be courteous."
You had the right of way...
Next time...shove a stick through the spokes of the bike as they pass...that'll teach them! :) |

You always have the right of way on a sidewalk, as bikes don't even belong on the sidewalk in the first place. They belong on the road, it's the LAW. |

I believe pedestrians have the right of way in all situations involving wheeled vehicles. |

YES... in fact, in the CIVILIZED countries in Europe... it is considered RUDE to ride a bike on the sidewalk and if they do... they are REQUIRED to signal they are behind you.
In AmeriKa these morons blaze past you without even warning you. When I have lived in towns where there were a lot of these arrogant, ego driven people who think they are so important... I started years ago walking forward but watching in shop windows or using peripheral vision to see these inconsiderate morons coming up behind me and JUST AS THEY ARE ABOUT TO PASS ME... I will STICK OUT MY ARM AT FACE HEIGHT... I have put more than just a few of those arrogant idiots into the gutter or the front of a building or into a car... even killed a guy when he lost control and pulled out in front of a car.
Sidewalks are for PEDESTRIANS and any fool who doesn't care about them, deserves anything they get in return. |
