If I'm by myself - LOCKED. There is no sense taking a stupid chance. There are creeps everywhere. A co-worker of mine was leaving work once when some dude walked up to her car and tried to open the passenger side door - fortunately her doors were locked or who knows what would have happened. Maybe he would have just grabbed her purse - maybe he would have pulled a weapon on her and told her to drive him somewhere. Or worse. |

Well doors or car should be always locked during driving as it is safe and precautionary measure. |

I drive with my car doors locked as living out in South Africa 13 years ago it was a must so this has become second nature to me. |

It is always advisable to drive with doors unlocked. If you have an accident, if doors locked, Fireman can't get in to save you and passengers. I wish you well. Terry. |

Unlocked, but I would consider locking them if I was in a particularly bad area. Also I have a Panic Button for the central locking. |

Locked, always. Camel Herder makes a very valid point, though. That's something to think about..... Anywho, I knew a truck driver who was held up at gunpoint in the middle of the day at a stoplight in town. He had his door unlocked, so some moron just walked up in the middle of the street and opened his door. Remember the LA riots years ago, when the mob opened that trucker's door, and dragged him out in the street and beat him? If he had his doors locked, at least it would have been more difficult for them! Still something to think about.....guess there are both pros and cons to the idea.. |

Used to always drive with them locked. Then through no fault of my own I was involved in a serious head on crash and the fire brigade had to get me out. However, if I had my doors unlocked then the simple fact is a passing member of the public could have opened them which in my case this Samaritan tried. |

3 locked, one unlocked. Due to a story about someone who was in an accident, was unconscious, car on fire, all doors locked. |
