Everywhere you look as you walk through the busy foot-traffic areas of Cap Hill, Madison Valley, Fremont, etc., there are A frame signs on the sidewalks or grass strips between the sidewalk and road.
Do these businesses need a permit or can they just go for it?

You can call the City Clerk and ask her any specific questions you may have about particular areas, types of signage, and permitted use. She can also help you with the permit process, or direct you to the department that can.
