Do you need air in your tires?

YES. dont try without. drastic results that will end in DEATH. =D

Well no not really.you could fill your tires with most inert gases. Many high performance applications use nitrogen because its pressure is more stable than normal air in the atmosphere which is a mixture of gases. You could also fill them with some type of rubber compund as some tires are solid rubber but I would hate to ride in a car with solid rubber tires

If I say yes are you going to come over and fill them up?

Fuzzy_Wuzzy
You might not in the future

Check out the link below, they are developign airless tires, they look a little funky, but this could be the way of the future

Especailly afer teh Explorere fiasco where a lot of people had underinflatted tires that lead to tread seperation a lothas been done to ensure people are maintaining propper inflation in their tires. In fact all new cars are required to have some sort of air pressure monitering system, wheather it is a nice incar system that tells you when they are low, or a special cap on the valvestem on the tires.

actually u dont always need air in ur tires special tires such that superastars have can run airless because a center plastic wheel on the inside air is mainly used just to give u a more comfortable ride because the air displaces itself on bumps and fills in in potholes therofore giving a more smoother ride.
