Ive never had one as I do not speed. All these people who complain about speeding fines and parking fines dont realise something. If they didnt do it in the first place, then they wouldnt get the fine. But rather than admit they are wrong, they think it far more easier to yell at the person issuing them with the fine |

if a child lives on a quiet street with a a 25 mph zone and somebody goes thru at 80 and gets a ticket....is it safety or revenue? use your head.. |

I object to speeders. They endanger others needlessly. My last speeding ticket wasback in the 80s, and before that in the early 70s.
Speeding tickets are voluntary tax contributions. I choose not to pay that tax. |

I don't object to paying a fine because it was my fault in the first place for speeding. |

Speeding and other infractions are penalised because they are dangerous and cost lives. As a non-driver I see how many drivers flout the law everyday, by using mobiles, parking on double yellows and just being inconsiderate. I know that pedestrians and cyclists aren't always model citizens but drivers are in charge of a potential dangerous equipment and have the duty of care to drive safety.
However, fines for speeding and illegal parking are used by the government as a form of revenue raising, but if you object to it, the power is in your hands not to let them have it.
Drive safe. |

Speed doesn't kill. It's going from 80mph to 0mph in a split second that kills. |

I've driven in most of the USA and have seen areas that allow speed traps that serve no purpose other than building revenue but... the majority of speeding tickets are given in an honest effort to enforce the law and save lives. There is little point in objecting to the fine if you are guilty of speeding, if you do object keep your speed down and you shouldn't have to pay any more fines. |

Always obey speed limits without having to 'consider it'.
If you break the speed limit then you have to pay the fine. It's a 'voluntary tax' so don't winge if you get caught.
It's not a compulsory revenue raising activity. If you don't want to pay it then stick to the speed limit. |

The parking tickets are the fund raisers. In LA they keep taking our spots and staking out the place to write tickets. |

Hey, I saw you in a James Bond film, but you looked different there, you had rotor blades.
Speed limits are there for a reason, I have been fined twice, and the only reason was bcoz I was going too fast, you are right in what you say.
37 in a 30 (I was ill and on tablets from the Doc and he would not sign me off)
47 in a 40 limit (60 for cars) I drive a lorry and was careless |

I have no problem whatsoever with fines for speeding - I think penalty points can be a bit harsh though given the amount of time it takes to clear..
But I've never had either and I intend to keep it that way. |

No. You shouldn't have been speeding. If there wasn't a fine, who'd care about breaking the limit? |
