Do you really know how "OLD" are your tires?

Even if you bought your tires yesterday, and they have never been driven on, they look new! You are in for a surprise. I recently found out that each tire has been stamped with a manufacturing date and your tires might be really OLD and we are not aware of it. To find out more information on this e-mail me requesting a video on the truth about new tires. I would forward it ASAP to each person that request this. Tires do not deteriate or wear down but they do dry out and your tires will explode in a matter of normal driving range. Like I said tell me your e-mail address and I would forward you friends a video shown on a special investigation on 20/20 in regards to this subject. You will be surprised!!!

Tires do deteriorate over time due to ozone in the atmosphere even if they have never been used. This article indicates there is some disagreement about how old is to old but various manufacturers quote 6-10 years from date of manufacture.

I learned this a while back, so yes I do. I believe there should be an expiration date on tires as well. Considering dry rot is a major factor in tire failure, then it should have a shelf life.

Tires do not decompose or wear out if not driven on. If they have been sitting in a garage for 5 years and have never been driven on, they will still be as good as the day you bought them. Still just as safe.

A tire would take thousands of years to decompose by itself. That is why we recycle tires and use them in roads and things like that. They last forever.. they are still new if they have never been used.
