I do not text while driving, it is dangerous.
'Texting' while driving is the act of composing, sending, or reading text messages, email, or making other similar use of the internet on a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle, such as an automobile, truck, or train. The practice has been viewed by many people and authorities as dangerous. It has also been ruled as the cause of some motor vehicle accidents, and in some places has been outlawed or restricted people have to stop.
Texting while driving leads to increased distraction behind the wheel. In 2006, Liberty Mutual Insurance Group conducted a survey with more than 900 teens from over 26 high schools nationwide. The results showed that 37% of students found texting to be "very" or "extremely" distracting. A study by the AAA discovered that 46% of teens admitted to being distracted behind the wheel due to texting. One example of distraction behind the wheel is the 2008 Chatsworth train collision which killed 25 passengers. The subsequent investigation revealed that the engineer had sent 45 text messages while operating the train.
A number of countries ban all cell phone use while driving (talking and texting). Texting while driving has been outlawed or is soon to be outlawed for all drivers in the following states: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
On January 26, 2010, the US Department of Transportation announced a federal ban on texting while driving by truckers and bus drivers

I don't text... at all. I'm too old to get hot and bothered my every geeky new piece of electronic crap that comes out. Also, I have a friend who was run over by a woman who wasn't paying attention. They never said if she was texting her bff who she hadn't seen in over 5 minutes, but it wouldn't surprise me. People should STFU and drive. If they're that damned bored driving, they should take the bus.

what u should do is come up close to them and honk, tell them to get of the ******* phone and take out a fake gun and say "do it again and ill kill u"....i hate it most when they do it in skool zones

I just got in an accident yesterday, and I wasnt even texting so oviously thats not always the reason, duh

Honestly, its up the person to decide it.
We all know many things involve the bad consequences but we still do it.
Like smoking cigarettes, we're risking ourselves to get cancer, but for many
variety reasons, people decide to smoke ( peer pressure, stress relief, etc ).

Texting while driving, sure, it involves many risks and bad consequences,
but people text while they drive for many different reasons.
Some may text while driving because they're confident about it.
Some may text because its urgent matter,

People know what they're risking, and they know the consequence may hurt
others as well, and there is a law/regulartion out for this, too.
But if someone wants to do it, they'll do it regardless...
