brakes and tires ..two major safety items you must have good brakes.. .. they sell used tires .. do not drive at highway speeds with bad tires .. or bad weather.. ask mom for a loan do both .be safe

both! i have had brakes fail unexpectedly and have blown out a lot of tires.neither are much fun.

If your rear brakes still have some pad left on them, remove the bald tires first. If the pads are shot, replace them. The rear brakes will live a while as long as the pads aren't chewing up the rotors, and bald tires are only really dangerous when it rains.

No rubber, car won't stop. No friction on rotors/drums, car won't stop. Do both. Even if a friend of a friend can do the brakes. Make sure he knows what he is doing though. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I won't service someone Else's brakes. Just my own.

calipers and rotors need to be done first because they can cause greater damage and cost more money if not fixed asap, the tires are fine if the steel belts are not showing just drive slowly

You could be putting your life and others' lives in jeopardy if you don't take care of both your brakes and your tires. If you're involved in an accident and someone is killed by your negligence, it may be considered vehicular manslaughter. This is serious stuff. If you can't afford to fix them both, walk or take the bus rather than drive an unsafe vehicle.

More important meaning safety or cost of damage? Tires are more important from a safety standpoint as brakes will still work even with worn out pads...it will however cause expensive damage to the rotors so from a cost point of view brakes as if you are cautious especially in rain and on wet surfaces you could probably wait a bit on the tires.

If your brakes are metal to metal " grinding" then the brakes
Bald tires usually show there evil in the rain, or on dirt and gravel.
Both are important!
If your tires are worn to where you can see the steal belts then don't drive it exept to a shop. If your brakes are just low get the tires done but don't wait till you hear gringing to do the brake..

tires first they are what will cause you to wreck. Then the pads but they are not much if you change them yourself. Rear is only 30% of stopping power.

Both are very important so you need to get both fixed or you take the risk of killing yourself or someone else.
