Do you think our attachment to our cell phones is good? bad? neutral? ?

In terms of THIS category of Yahoo Answers, I'd have to say it's not good. Cell phones in automobiles are one of many contributing factors leading to collisions, injuries and death.

But then, so are noisy, misbehaving children, drive through fast food restaurants, cigarettes and chatty passengers.

The thing is, that one can talk all day about the dangers of these kinds of distractions, but many people will still disregard the dangers of engaging in these activities. This just all fits in with the basic fact that not all licensed drivers are really prepared to safely operate a motor vehicle. That's why citations are being issued to speeders, tailgaters, unsafe lane changes, red light and stop sign runners, drunks and inattentive drivers.

The best we can do is to minimize our distractions and impairments and watch out for the other guy's behaviors.

I think people go all out with their cell phones to the point they should just marry that damn thing. I'm not attached to my cell what so ever. In fact, I subcauciously want my cell phone dead. I like my cover for it and I like that it's pink with a cameria but that's basically it.

I think its neutral. Call me paranoid but its an easy way for people to track you. Plus we never needed them before they came out, right?

But i am nowhere saying we shoudln't use them. A great product that has made life alot easier.

Did you hear the story of the guy in cali that was driving the train that hit the other train killing 37 people.

Comes to find out he had just got done sending a text message before the crash. I would consider his attachment to be Bad.

Bad,I will not leave home without it. literally the few times being 2 in the last 8 years have I left it at home I was freaking out all day. absolutely sad.

Bad, there are some people I work with that can't go 2 hours without texting someone. They have gotten wrote up for texting on the job and they still continue to do it. I couldn't imagine what could be so important that it could not wait until they went on break.
