I think this is the easiest thing that most people have a hard time doing, driving a car. I personally think that only about 25 or 30 percent of people are good drivers.
By no means I want to bragg about my driving skills, but I used to drive a Tractor Trailer in NJ,CT,NY,PA, and other states, never been involve in an accident in 24 yrs and I always wonder why many of you hit the breaks too much, tail gate, put signals and turn right away. On TV they said that if 40 or 50 % of drivers get tested again, they will fail the test.

I also was an O.T.R driver and have driven half a million accident free. I did have one bad one in Philly 12 years ago and a death was involved but I was completely cleared of fault. I just could not get back in that truck again. Been accident free since then too. Not tooting my horn just very cautious behind wheel. Have seen the worst and do not want a repeat. |

Not saying I am a good driver because the next time I get behind the wheel I may do something stupid and really screw up that theory, but I have retired from over the road trucking with 35 years and over 2 million accident free miles under my belt. As you know, you have to drive not only for yourself but for everyone else around you. |

i have my good points, and my bad points.
i'd say i was above average, but certainly not amazing. |

i consider myself a good driver. i hate people that dont use turn signals,get in the passing lane and go the same speed that the car next to them is going, or ride their brakes going down a hill. the only time i tail gate is when the moron is on the cell phone/texting and doing 20mph under the speed limit, when he wont get in the right lane when on the highway or going same speed as the car next to him. i was driving at age 10 and knew how to drive a stick shift at age 13 i could back up a 25 foot trailer only using my mirrors. |

No. I KNOW that I'm a good driver. In my younger days I used to ride motorcycles and that fear of being plowed under by a 5,000lb car really made me into a defensive driver. I keep up with traffic, I stay out of people's way, I use signals and I watch every other car on the road.
