I know it's only a few bucks to fix but I didn't want to fix it right away (i'm being a girly-girl) but I also don't want to deal with tickets, not even a fix it one.
I'll get it taken care of asap.

If it is installed on the vehicle, it must be operational. CA would most likely just issue you a fix-it summons. Once the light is working, follow the instructions & have the summons dismissed. |

I called the California DMV office and this is what they said......" You can be ticketed for this if it came from the factory with one because this would fail under a safety violation and if it was an aftermarket one then remove it"...... |

Yes you will get a ticket if you don't fix the light might just be a warning they will usually just give a warning unless you are speeding or drag racing, |
