Does anyone know how to beat a speeding ticket?

Find out where your fuse box in your car is - even better, find out which fuses light your dash and your shifter. That way, if you get pulled over at night, you can tell the cop you didn't realize you were speeding cuz you just got in your car and realized your dash lights were out and you can't see the speedometer. This has worked for me several times.

if you wanna get out of a ticket take your car and make it as fast as possible

Get a lawyer and pay them to go to court for a trial. Most officers don't show up to the court date, and it gets dismissed. Even if they do show up, the lawyer will request an extension, and do that until the cop doesn't show. If he does show up every time, eventually you will have to do something, and if you are guilty, you will most likely have to pay it anyway.

I've never read so many stupid answers to a question!!! Take it from a retired law enforcement officer: Either talk to the DA or have your attorney do it, but try to get it amended to a non-moving violation (BEFORE COURT). In this way, you may have to pay a little more, but the points don't go against your driving record. Otherwise, just pay the ticket and accept the points.

Like all Law enforcement equipment used to zapped you for violation, example, if truck driver goes to a scale and they say he's overweight and issues a ticket for overloads and you asked when the scale was last certified and they are not check on a yearly basis then it could get thrown out of court because all equipment use in enforcement to weigh or measure the vehicle speed are required to have traceability to accuracy otherwise it will be thrown out of court.

Just contest it in court... most of the time the judge will just drop the points and leave the fine, which is what most people really want.

Demand to see the maintenance record for the speed gun. They may not have had it calibrated, that has to be done frequently. If it wasn't maintained according to the manufacturers recommendation it's not a valid reading, I've heard of tickets being dropped when they can't come up with the log for the speed gun used :-) Good luck

Usually if you talk to the officer right before going before the judge (He will be there) you can get it reduced. If the officer doesnt show up for court you can always ask the judge to dismiss it.

Go to the courts and ask people how to get it reduced. Get your spedometer calibrated.

get a lawyer... sometimes the radar has not been adjusted, or if there was an incline in the roadway, it may not have been an accurate read...but i would get a lawyer if you wanna fight it

If your'e nowhere near the posted limit, (going real fast) you could try and arrange a plea agreement with the prosecutor/district attorney, pleading to a lower speed, but still pleading. You could question the officer's accuracy in citing you, depending what he used (radar or pacing) you could question if he got you with the laser on a crowded highway, or you could question his speedometer accuracy if he paced you. Requesting a trial hoping the officer won't show up is dumb, your'e only wasting the court's time and the officers (he still gets paid) If you plead after he shows up, the court's going to be miffed at you and probably give you the maximium fine.

What? If you have a ticket.. simply show up to court and they will probably reduce it to a non-moving violation.

Declare incompetence when you were driving. Either insane or drunk. It may beat the ticket, but will strip your license or get you an OMVI!
